2/14/08 PITCHERS AND CATCHERS!!!!!!!

Yes, it is that time again. Now there are many of you who will bring up how absolutely debased the sport of baseball has become. You'll say it is a game for cheaters and users, that it's an industry not a sport, that it's a national disgrace not the national pastime. Ok, I hear you. Your points are heard and well taken. But...

There's something about the call up of players. It suggests that Spring is just around the corner. It suggests that Summer will soon be following. There's the excitement of the new roster additions. And this year they are BIG for the Mets! Catchers Brian Schneider and Johnny Estrada will be joining Ramon Castro in Florida. AND !!!Johnny Estrada will be joining Pedro and John and Orlando and the rest of the bullpen. Good stuff. Plus pitchers and catchers day falls on my birthday, 2/14.

Let's face it, all our national and international sports have become debased. Some will choose to discard them. I can understand that. I choose to celebrate the good stuff in them, though. Look what some of the good people are doing right hear at home:
